Wild Horse Hope was founded in 2006 by Scott and Josie Gwin. The vision to see children touched by horse and animal interactions burned deep enough to require a step of faith. Leaving behind a comfortable job, home, friends, and lifestyle in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, they followed God to the Northeastern plains of Colorado where a property was purchased with enough space to let the horses and kids run.
WHH now sits on 150 acres of western prairie 2 miles outside the town of New Raymer, Colorado. God takes great pleasure in healing broken things. It is our experience that, more often than not, He uses the support of one to help heal another.
It is our vision to provide a safe place of healing and hope for kids and families.Horses have the ability to break down barriers. Interaction with horses creates an opportunity for open conversation and the weaving in of life and God lessons - such as trust, faithfulness, honesty, hard work, and commitment.
WHH uses wild mustangs and rescued horses to provide that relationship. Whether it is the wildness of the mustangs or the abuse and neglect of horses that have been rescued from bad situations, each horse has a story to share with people, many of them very similar.
In this beautiful section of wide open Western prairie, God speaks to the hearts of those who come. His gift of healing and hope is freely offered for those who will reach out and take hold.
