Today, I was reading a book by Kim Meeder, it was called 'Hope Rising'. It was talking about these a boy named Mason. She (Kim Meeder) runs a rescue oginization ranch for horses and people. One mare, she saved from a breeding farm. The mare was extremely malnourished, and had just had a foal about two weeks before she was found. Her foal, died at bith and the people that worked at the stable did not pick up the dead body. The poor mare- bless her heart- couldn't understand it. Once Kim had gotten her new rescue horse to the stable, the mare thought she couldn't trust another soul. The boy was basically failing in life so to speak, let Kim introduce him to the horse. Kim left them to go help out with the other kids that were at the farm for the day. When she came back, she saw the boy resting his head on the mares head, and the mare, resting her head on his lap. She cried for a while, hiding. After she was done crying, she went over to him and told him that he had helped the mare to trust once again. This taught me that just because have been betrayed by one person, it doesn't mean that the next person that comes along will do the same.
