Christian Horse-lover’s Club PDF Print E-mail
Written by Christian Cowgirl

The Christian Horse-lover's Club was founded in 2000 by Kim Shanks at Hidden Falls Ranch, a small ranch owned with her husband, Robin, in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

CHC Inc. is a non-profit organization that has developed Christian curriculum with a horse emphasis. Originally designed for middle school and high school aged girls, now the curriculum has been adapted for any type of group.

The curriculum is set up in units that include Devotions, Scripture memory verses, Projects and Activities and a certain amount of Bible reading.

The vision of the Christian Horse-lover’s club is to help other Christian horse owners who have a desire to reach out to their communities for Christ, by providing curriculum and information to help them start a Chartered CHClub.  Curriculum is now available -at a low cost for Christian horse people interested in starting a CHClub in their area.

The CHC Inc. curriculum has 21 Units. The first unit each new member must complete is the Truth Unit, which explains what CHC is all about AND gives a clear presentation of the Gospel. The final unit is the Leadership Unit. All the CHC Units are Bible-based and nondenominational.

Photo Note:
Josiah is a registered Moriesian, 2 ½ years old in the photo. He is named after my favorite king in the Bible, good King Josiah, because the king loved the Word of God and always did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. Josiah also means "the LORD supports."

I love Friesians, but they are so big and expensive. So I decided to buy a Morgan mare (I have always loved Morgans) and breed it to a Friesian stallion with an excellent temperament.
